The Quality Assurance Analyst II is to develop and execute functional test scripts to ensure quality for applications or systems being developed. This resource will work closely with authors of use cases and requirements to understand the purpose of new and changing systems/components. They will create and execute test cases based on templates, agreed upon processes and available requirements. The Quality Assurance Analyst II will work in conjunction with project teams, in the identification, diagnosis, resolution and entry of software defects in the defect management tool, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, and escalate issues posing threats to quality for assigned work. The Quality Assurance Analyst II may be asked to perform some “Lead” functions for assigned projects including overall quality metrics and provide test plans or estimates.
The incumbent should be adept at working in a fast paced team environment. They must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Write test cases, test scripts and test conditions using standard templates
Execute test cases and log results in test management tool.
Provide feedback on software usability and over complex solutions. Should help developers continually focus on a user-focused experience
Work closely with software developers on specific software problems, as well as providing feedback on the overall software quality.
Perform quality testing for websites, applications and reports.
Write project specific test plans for assigned project work
Participate in estimation of effort for assigned project work
Other duties as assigned.
2-6 Years’ experience in a formal quality assurance organization
Hands on experience with quality assurance tools like Quality Center or Microsoft Test Manager
Experience writing test cases, executing tests and creating issues and bugs
Experience in testing web applications and operational reporting
Experience in writing test plans and estimating Quality Assurance tasks for project work
Experience at working both independently and in a team environment.
Communicate well orally and through written communication
Proficient use of the computer with an emphasis in basic Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and email applications, such as Microsoft Outlook
Demonstrated math aptitude
Ability to learn new applications and business processes quickly
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent organization and time management skills
Must be detail-oriented with the ability to analyze information and make logical conclusions
Able to work well with small or large teams
